Bernard Akaawase
Ph.D. student, University of Connecticut

My research interests include:
- Air-Sea Interactions
- Robotics
- Ocean Engineering
- Data Science
- Remote Sensing
I’m a 4th-year Ph.D. student in Physical Oceanography at the University of Connecticut's Marine Sciences Department, where I work with Professor Leonel Romero in the Air-Sea Interaction Lab.
In my current work, we make directional, phase-resolved, broadband observation of breaking waves in the field so as to better understand the mechanics of sea surface waves.
Beyond research, I enjoy playing the violin, cooking, hiking, and playing soccer.
